Brooks Derryberry is the owner/operator of “Responsible Firearms Training and Consulting, LLC”.
Brooks grew up with firearms; shooting and hunting, as the son of a career Marine. As a competitor in USPSA, IDPA and ICORE firearms competitions, he was often asked to help friends and family members become comfortable, confident and competent with firearms. In 2017 Brooks became a Certified Instructor with the United States Concealed Carry Association “USCCA”, teaching Basic Handgun, Concealed Carry & Home Defense, and Countering the Mass Shooter Threat, teaching the curriculum of the USCCA, “A National Training Organization.” Brooks, is on the list of firearms instructors for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, to provide the 8-hour training course required for the Enhanced Carry Permit. Brooks is also certified as a practitioner of “Stop the Bleed” a course sponsored by the National College of Surgeons, to teach people how to stop severe bleeding until EMS help can arrive. Brooks holds a Bachelor’s Degree and MBA, with majors in finance and economics from Mississippi College. Prior to becoming a professional firearms instructor, Brooks worked in the banking and telecommunications field, retiring December 31, 2019.
