Michael Freed is reopening his real estate law practice in Amory, Mississippi, reviving a firm that was highly regarded across Monroe County and Northeast Mississippi from 2006 to 2015.
The firm is led by Attorney Michael Freed and Paralegal Bailey Freed, a husband-and-wife team, and operates as a boutique, relationship-driven practice with direct involvement in all communications with Realtors, lenders, and clients.
As Michael steps into a board role with his venture studio, Tanager Holdings, LLC, his primary professional focus is returning to and rebuilding the real estate closing practice he previously led.
The firm is now building a high-quality, scalable closing operation and is seeking an experienced TRID closer to serve as the backend production engine supporting that growth.
This is a behind-the-scenes role focused on:
- CD preparation and balancing
- Lender coordination
- File readiness
- You will not be responsible for client-facing communication, but your work must support a high-touch, reputation-driven front end.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and balance Closing Disclosures (CDs) in coordination with lenders
- Ensure full TRID compliance, including timing and tolerance requirements
Coordinate with lenders to resolve:
- Fee discrepancies
- CD revisions
- Funding requirements
- Confirm files are accurate and truly clear to close prior to scheduling
- Identify and escalate issues early:
- Payoff discrepancies
- Title issues
- Missing information
- Work within firm systems (Qualia or SoftPro) to maintain full file visibility
Collaborate closely with attorney and office team to ensure smooth closings
Scope of Role
You will:
- Own the numbers
- Own CD accuracy
- Own backend execution
You will not:
- Lead Realtor or client communication
- Manage relationships externally
- Operate independently of firm oversight
All client-facing communication is handled in-house.
Required Experience
Minimum 3+ years handling TRID-governed residential closings
Direct experience balancing lender-prepared CDs
Experience working with:
Retail lenders
Mortgage brokers
Local/community banks
Strong working knowledge of:
TRID timing rules
Tolerance categories
Fee placement and adjustments
