The candidate must (1) be a motivated self-starter, a problem-solver and able to work independently, (2) be highly organized, efficient and a good communicator, and (3) know Microsoft Office banquet of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.  Turner Law also uses Clio Management System, but the candidate is not required to be proficient in that at the time of hiring (but they must be willing to put time in on the job to learn the system).  Some of the specific duties include the following:

•         Plot property from a metes and bounds legal description

•         Draft title commitments and necessary proforma policies with required endorsements based on title reports received from abstractors in Mississippi and Tennessee in accordance with appropriate underwriting guidelines

•         Analyze title commitments not produced by Turner Law to identify and locate encumbrances and appurtenant easements and provide corrections to the title underwriter or agent

•         Analyze surveys based on the accompanying title commitments and provide corrections to the surveyor

•         Read-in survey matters to title commitments

•         Draft closing documents, settlement statements and disbursement schedules and assist with closings

•         Produce owner title insurance policies and loan title insurance policies and required endorsements

•         Produce date-down endorsements to existing title policies

•         Maintain good working relationships with clients and with vendors (accountants, title abstractors, title underwriters, closing partners in other states) and opposing counsel and their staff
