Member Highlight – Agent: Mason Wood

A lifelong resident of Laurel, Mason Wood returned home after being admitted to the Mississippi Bar to begin his legal practice with Caves & Caves, PLLC.  Mason received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010 and a Master of Business Administration degree in 2012, both from The University of Mississippi.  He graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law in 2018.  While in law school, Mason served as an Associate Editor for The Mississippi College Law Review, a research assistant for the school’s Legal Writing department, and a law clerk for Chief Judge L. Joseph Lee of the Mississippi Court of Appeals.

Mason’s practice is now focused on real estate transactions and general civil litigation.  As a former loan officer, he particularly enjoys helping clients meet their goals while working the other side of real estate lending.  As a relatively new attorney, Mason’s advice to others starting in the business would be to “stay organized, manage your time wisely, be over-prepared when you go to court, and always return phone calls.”  He credits the support of the attorneys, paralegals, and staff members of his firm for helping him do his job well.

Away from work, Mason spends most of his time with his wife, Haley, and one-year-old daughter, Anne Parker.  He and his family are active members of First Baptist Church of Laurel, and Mason is a member of several local philanthropic organizations, including the Laurel Kiwanis Club.
