Member Highlight – Agent: Courtney Robbins

Courtney Robbins began her career as an officer in the trust department at a prominent bank in Jackson. She then worked as a prospect research consultant for a national nonprofit before opening up her own law practice, specializing in estate planning and ERISA law. In 2016, she joined Luckett Land Title to open its fourth real estate closing office, located in Madison.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi State University, Courtney earned her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law. She currently serves on the Public Relations Committee of the Mississippi Bar, the Membership Committee of the American Land Title Association, and as Chair of the Legislative Committee of the Land Title Association of Mississippi, where she is helping to shape future laws and regulations that affect Mississippi real estate.

In 2017, Courtney attended ALTA ONE and learned about eClosings/Digital Closings. She performed the first eClosing in the State of Mississippi in May of 2018. Since then, Courtney says, “We have seen so much change due to technology and the pandemic. Because I serve as the Legislative Chair of LTAMS, I had the opportunity to work on the Executive Order allowing RIN and RON closings as well as the new Electronic Notarization Act.”

Courtney’s “bread and butter” is residential real estate transactions. To do her job well, she says it takes a “servant’s heart.” She enjoys helping people understand the closing process and putting their minds at ease, especially first-time buyers. Her advice to others starting out in the title business is to recognize that “you will not know everything and will fly by the seat of your pants for at least the first year, so make sure you have mentors and a good escrow officer to help you make hard decisions.”

Married to her college sweetheart for over 15 years, Courtney and her husband have two beautiful children, Ethan (10) and Lainey (7), and a 14-year-old miniature schnauzer named Rudy. In early 2020, they traveled to Guatemala, and last year, they visited Zion National Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. When the pandemic prevented a planned trip to France, they made their first venture into RV life on a trip to Virginia and the Great Smokey Mountains.
