With 82 counties, 10 of which are divided into two judicial districts, and countless ways title can go wrong, Mississippi title work is never the same and never boring. This 60-minute session explores the Mississippi title search and examination process through a practical, real-world lens, highlighting the red flags, overlooked details, and claim-producing issues that Mississippi title professionals should never ignore. Whether handling residential or commercial transactions, attendees will learn how to identify potential problems, evaluate risk, recognize issues requiring additional investigation, and communicate significant findings to clients. Through real-world examples and lessons learned, participants will gain practical tools and best practices to support sound title decisions, achieve marketable title, and help prevent costly claims.

Audience: Attorneys, abstractors, title examiners, processors, pre-closing staff, closing agents, and other title professionals involved in researching, evaluating, curing, underwriting, or relying upon title information in residential or commercial real estate transactions.
