Ethics Opinion 265: Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act

On June 9, the Board of Commissioners adopted Formal Ethics Opinion 265 regarding a Mississippi lawyer’s ethical obligations in providing legal services to a client related to the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act. The Opinion finds that it is permissible for an attorney to provide legal services, represent, counsel, and assist a client in activities related to and in compliance with the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act, provided the lawyer also advises the client of relevant federal law.
