Title Examination Standards: Second Edition Now Available

The Real Property Section referendum regarding updates to the Mississippi Title Examination Standards ended on May 31, 2021. The referendum passed 97% in favor, with only 3% opposed.

As a result, the Title Standards Board has published the Second Edition of its Mississippi Title Examination Standards. The Second Edition incorporates several changes based on recent changes in law, including the adoption of a new standard related to the Mississippi Real Property Transfer on Death Act. A separate pocket part has been created that shows a redline of the changes made between the First Edition and Second Edition.
