Andrea’ Barnes
Andrea’ Barnes is the Director of the Heirs’ Property Campaign, which provides legal assistance and community education to farmers and families to preserve ownership of their land, maintain their legacy, and build generational wealth by clearing title to the property. Prior to joining the Center, Andrea’ practiced family law, estate and probate administration, and personal injury litigation. Andrea’s background also includes working as a law clerk with the Circuit Court of Hinds County, Mississippi, a prosecutor with the Hinds County Attorney’s Office, and as an attorney with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Andrea’ has also served as an adjunct professor at Tougaloo College and a Real Property Trust and Estates Fellow with the American Bar Association. Previously, she served on the Spencer Perkins Center Board of Directors. Andrea’ is a member of many professional organizations and associations, including the Mississippi Bar, Magnolia Bar, Metro Black Women Lawyers Association, Heirs’ Property Practitioners Network, and others. Andrea’ earned a Bachelor of Arts from Tougaloo College, a Master of Business Administration from Jackson State University, and received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
