Licensed to practice law in both Mississippi and Tennessee, Ryan has closed more than 20,000 real estate transactions in his career. His main practice areas include Commercial and Residential Real Estate Transactions, Construction/Development Law, Business Entity formation, mergers/acquisitions, Construction Litigation and Estate Planning.

He has also been an Adjunct Professor of Law for teaching onsite at FedEx Corporation in Memphis, and through the United States Naval College at NSA Millington and online to students nationwide for more than a decade. He is also a Certified Real Estate Instructor for the Tennessee Association of Realtors, and the Memphis Area Association of Realtors. He has taught or lectured on real estate related topics at schools including the University of Mississippi, Northwest Mississippi Community College, Mississippi College, University of Memphis, and the University of Tennessee-Martin.  He was the Tennessee Association of Realtors Instructor of the Year in 2015 and has been a real estate instructor for more than 23 years.
