Extension: Waiver of In-Person CLE Requirement
In an order signed November 10, 2022, the Mississippi Supreme Court has extended the temporary waiver of the in-person requirement for an attorney’s continuing legal education obligation for the 2022-2023 reporting year. Attorneys will be allowed to continue to earn CLE credits in the method of their choosing, either in-person, online, or via a live or pre-recorded webinar.

A number of other states have also extended compliance deadlines and modifications to the limitations of credits earned online. Some states have made these changes permanent. For example, the Indiana Supreme Court issued an order on June 6ht that permanently amended their continuing education rules to lift limits on distance education. That order vacated the two previously-issued COVID-related orders that waived certain distance education limits until further notice.
