Are you ready? New ALTA Policies are almost here!
The third set of discussion drafts of the proposed revisions to the standard ALTA 2006 Loan and Owner’s Title Insurance Policies has been released. The discussion drafts can be downloaded at alta.org/policy-forms.
ALTA’s Title Insurance Forms Committee has been working on the proposed revisions for several years now. The first discussion drafts were posted for comment in October 2017, while the second set was released in January 2019. The Policy Forms Committee hopes to finalize its recommended changes sometime in March of 2020.
Comments may be submitted to forms@alta.org, but you better hurry. The deadline to submit comments is Feb. 20, 2020. Comments received after March 1 may be considered at a later date.
